Short Bio

I'm current a PhD candidate at MIT, CSAIL, Data System Group. I'm super fortunately co-advised by Prof. Samuel Madden and Prof. Tim Kraska. Before MIT, I achieved a master degree from University of Oxford and bachelor degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. My primary research focus is on query optimization and query processing. Many of my researches have been integrated into commercial database systems. For example, Iconq, a fine-grained concurrency-aware query scheduler, has been integrated into a world-leading data warehouse. Stage, a hierarchical query execution time predictor, has been integrated into AWS RedShift. FactorJoin, an efficient and accurate cardinality estimator, has been integrated into ByteHouse, ByteDance's cloud-native engine for big data analysis. I'm also working on optimizing cloud data infrastructures and efficiently serving large models.
